Tottenham Hotspur have turned to Antonio Conte to turn their fortunes around after sacking Nuno Espirito Santo on Monday.

The Italian has signed an 18-month contract at the north London after being persuaded to join by Spurs chairman Daniel Levy and managing director Fabio Paratici.

Conte initially rejected Tottenham’s advances when they approached him in the summer.

But the 52-year-old had a change of heart after being given assurances that there will be money to rebuild the squad, according to the Evening Standard.

“The contagious enthusiasm and determination of Daniel Levy in wanting to entrust me with this task had already hit the mark,” Conte said following his appointment at the Premier League side.

“Now that the opportunity has returned, I have chosen to take it with great conviction.”

Tottenham’s players will experience Conte’s intense training regimes and ruthless approach.

However, that’s probably needed given the lacklustre performances they’ve produced in recent weeks.

Conte’s resume is proof that his style works, though, and so Spurs’ players will hang on his every word.

Yet we’re not sure how they’ll react when the former Chelsea coach instructs them on how to have sex

Conte has previously admitted that he tells his players not to have sex for too long before matches – and that they should have it with their wives so “they are not obliged to put in exceptional performances”.

“I explain to the players how they should have sex… in the periods of competition, the intercourse should not last long and they should be on the bottom,” Conte said, per Gazzetta.

“During spells of matches the players should not have sexual relations that last for long periods.

“They need to make as little effort as possible. The best position for them is if their partners go on top.

“And it is preferable that they are with their own wives. That way they are not obliged to put in an exceptional performance.”

Forget the Tottenham players – how are their wives going to feel about this?

Conte’s results speak for themselves but we’re not entirely convinced this request will be strictly followed
