Chelsea defender Thiago Silva is charging fans £300(N150,000) for personalised messages despite earning a reported salary of £95,000 a week at Stamford Bridge.
Silva, 37, has made himself available on the video messaging site Cameo, which allows fans to order personalised messages such as birthday wishes from their favourite celebrities.
Brazil international Silva is charging fans £300 per message, while his fee for businesses is £11,250.
Some fans have questioned why Silva would need the extra income, given his huge salary at Chelsea.
One fan told The Sun: “How is earning £95,000-a-week not enough for him? What a joke.
“If he’s that desperate for money, perhaps he should ask Roman Abramovich for some Russian roubles before he quits.”
However, other fans have thanked Silva for recording messages, with the Chelsea star already receiving a number of five-star customer reviews on the site.
One review read: “Thank you so much, I love you. You’re the best player I’ve seen wear the Chelsea top.
“My team will use this for motivation. You’re the best!! Again I really appreciate this, thank you and take care champ”
Brazil internationals Marquinhos and Willian are also available to hire, while Silva’s Chelsea team-mate Jorginho is also listed on the site but is not currently taking requests for messages
Silva joined Chelsea on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain in 2020 and has gone on to make 66 appearances for the club, scoring five times.
He was rewarded with a new contract extension in January after helping Chelsea win the Champions League the previous season.
Silva is now under contract with the west London club until the end of the 2022-23 campaign
