Valencia are coming off of a La Liga matchday 12 win against Villarreal 2-0. It ended a six-match winless streak for Jose Bordalas’s team. Valencia are aiming for their first win over Atletico Madrid in 14 tries.

Each of Atletico Madrid’s last two matches in La Liga on the road finished without wins. They have scored eight times on the road, but conceded six times. Uncharacteristically, Simeone’s team has kept just five clean sheets in 15 matches.

Simeone could be without Thomas Lemar and Marcos Llorente due to injuries. Midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia and Ivan Saponjic are doubts for the fixture.

Bordalas has three players on the injury list going into the match. Uros Radic is ruled out until after the international break. Gabriel Paulista and Denis Cheryshev are both major doubts to play.

Valencia are winless against Atletico Madrid in 13 straight matches. Their winless streak should continue this weekend, but it won’t end in a loss.
